A Taste of Freedom!
Breathing Space Meditation for Newcomers
We’re pleased to offer you the opportunity to take a breathing space from your busy schedule and learn to meditate. Call into the Liverpool Buddhist Centre on the 2nd Saturday of each month and take an hour (or two) to slow down and just breathe.
From the 10.30-11.30 we will concentrate on meditation, there will be instruction, periods of led meditation and the opportunity to ask questions.
Following that, until 12.30pm, there will be an introduction to some of the basic concepts of Buddhism. Come to just the meditation or both sessions.
Whilst all levels of experience are welcome, these sessions will be particularly directed towards those new to meditation. There is no need to book in advance, just turn up between 10.15 &10.30am. Sorry, but there is no admission to the building once the door is closed at 10.30 and the session has begun.
The venue is our Centre on the 2nd floor of Melbourne Buildings, North John Street, the entrance is next door to the Shiraz restaurant.
There is no set charge for these sessions, we operate on a dana (generosity) basis so you’re free to donate as much or as little you feel able to give. We are, however, only able to accept cash on the day but details to make a bank transfer will be available.
Dates for 2026
no session in April, 9th May, 13th June, 11th July, 8th August, 12th Sept, 20th October, 14th November & 12th December.

Going Deeper Meditation and Dharma Sessions
Mantra and Meditation Session
For Triratna regular meditators with a strong, developed and regular meditation practice, on the 4th Saturday of each month, with prompt 10.30am start we’re offering an invitation to deepen your samatha and vipassana practice, with visualisation and mantra.
Each session will begin with a different visualisation of a Buddha or Bodhisattva followed with their mantra and an open 45 minute sit. The door will be closed
at 10.30 am.
No teaching or guidance will be given, with the full session lasting approximately 1 hour. It is therefore essential to have the ability to sit quietly and comfortably for this period of time.
Arrivals from 10.15am are welcome to allow for a comfort break and settling into meditation posture.
To aid the setting up of conditions for samatha and vipassana practices, a calm, quiet environment will be encouraged and cultivated before and after each meditation period. If you would like to stay for a period of silent reflection after a meditation, you will be welcome to do so.
April 19th, May 23rd, June 27th, July 25th, Aug 22nd, Sep 26th, Oct 24th, Nov 28th, Dec 26th, Jan 23rd.
Please contact us before you attend through our email address:
